After your response last week, I already figured we were dealing with more than one. That wasn't the question. It was the "why", which you admitted to not knowing, and then you made it sound like there was a specific reason why you weren't given that info.
If the reason is "just because", I haven't exactly learned anything new here.

Let me try this. The thing with them is-- we don't know anything about what they're up to when they aren't possessing a host. Once they do, we're able to sense that they're around and active... which is where I had to shut up, because there are cases when we know what's going on after the possession takes hold.
We just don't immediately know who, or your role wouldn't need to exist.
