[He frowns thoughtfully at that, and sets the papers on his desk further aside.]
Not right off the top of my head, but then I don't handle everyone's vehicles. Let me think on it, but-- something suspicious about one?

[Honestly, he doesn't sound all that concerned about it at first, it's not his own side of town-- but he hums quietly as he considers.]
Well, it's Xie Lian's problem if they get any damage over there. I don't know of any that stand out, though, it's not an uncommon kind of car. [Another brief pause, and:] We're testing out something new, but I sure as hell didn't tell them to take anything into enemy territory and risk starting trouble.
If you hear anything else about that, let me know-- no matter who it was, if anyone over there assumes it was us, we might have more issues.

[ And it's something 9S assumed as well. He didn't want to, but it makes logical sense.
If Chuuya is bringing up "something new" in this context, then 9S assumes he's referring to some kind of gun, or car, or gun-car. It might be hypocritical, considering his job here, but the idea of humans trying to find new ways to kill each other leaves him deeply uneasy. He doesn't understand where their urge to destroy themselves comes from. ]
Whoever it was, I hope they'll be more careful from now on. There were kids in the tower only seconds before the car started shooting it up.

[Like, it'll be hard to ignore any damage, but... well, there's that and then there's being an eyewitness to what actually caused it.
His eyes narrow further as 9S continues, though, his brow furrowing more, and he gives his head a shake.]
-if that really was anyone on our end, I'll pull them out of action if I find out who.
[That's the kind of reputation they don't need, for one. Chuuya likes to think he's not entirely heartless, though-- people with their lifestyle should know what to expect, but there are ways to try to minimize civilian damages.]

Great. Thank you, sir.
[ He pauses. ]
One more thing. I heard in Middleton that there've been people going missing. Mostly in Westside, I think. [ Otherwise, a person from Xian Le probably wouldn't be trying to prod 9S about what's been happening in Eastside. ] Do you know if there's been anything like that happening on our side of town?
no subject
[His eyes narrow at the thought, there, one hand reflexively clenching. He's yet to hear anything else about it, and it's been weighing on his mind since it was mentioned.]
We don't know right now if it's an isolated incident, but I'd be surprised if it were.
no subject
... Alright. I'll let you know if I hear anything else on that front, and with luck, we'll have our answers soon. All of this can't be good for the climate in town.
[ He straightens into an almost-salute. ]
That's about everything I wanted to see you about, sir.
[ And he'll stand there until he gets a dismissal! ]
no subject
[Not that he would mind going up against the Xian Le properly now, without the support they used to have... but it's easier on everyone right now to avoid that. There's no sense in starting that level of trouble without a damn good reason.]
Thanks, Nines. You can go-- just let me know if anything else comes up.
