[it really does feel that way; chuuya's noticed it too, and in all honesty, he can't say he minds. he would plot another night like that in exactly this way, and not only because it's a good deterrent for anyone who might end up too close while they spoke.

Would you kill me, Chuuya, to keep me quiet? [Her thumb presses down beneath this lower lip, needling for a response. Of course she knows what he's really talking about, but the inherent danger of fooling around like this puts it closer to violence than it first appears.]

[It's not quite an answer nearly as much as it is one. The scar of her palm burns when he kisses it, and Caren realizes she was right. It feels better with the mark left behind. With both of her hands occupied and her back against the wall, Caren has few places to go, so she leans out into him instead.]

I would truly hate to die again, but it's unlikely I'd be able to stop you.
