chuuya's told jacopo which room he's sharing with caren and told him to drop by anytime that night, except when he does show up he's getting a very hurried "give us a minute-" before chuuya lets him in a minute later.

[She already knows from their other conversation that his handling of the hair was intentionally suspicious, but this just brings that conversation in Chuuya's arms back in full.]

What fucking right did he have to try to make you two, of all people, leave? If he ends up here--

We're all a little stressed, needless to say. The fool's been playing for the other team longer than I expected.

I'm aware that fulfilling one of the win conditions won't "impress" my employer, but I highly doubt a group of righteous murderers singing kumbaya will either.

You didn't seem the type to subscribe to those sorts of biases. Luckily, I don't need bigotry to find his behaviors despicable.

[Caren says that completely neutrally, so it's difficult to tell if she means it in an underhanded way if she's truly surprised by his tone.]

Which condition? We are cursed enough that it would be easiest to achieve, wouldn't it? Now that the rest of one faction has completely exposed themselves, it could be a matter of days.

Sometimes you play for whatever team you have to. [let's be real chuuya has.] But if fulfilling the win conditions isn't impressive enough, then why were we playing in the first place...

[caren's already got the rest of the commentary on jacopo's Opinions, there, so chuuya is just taking and lighting a cigarette with a brief little nod of thanks, taking a short drag from it. he's done this before, apparently.]

Honestly, it's kind of bullshit to get dragged into a game like this and then hear we apparently weren't supposed to fucking play it right. I told both of them when they came for me that they weren't living to eight weeks, and if Assassin has his way I'm pretty sure they won't-- if your boss ends up unimpressed that we were good at what we did, they can go fuck themselves.
