[Welcome back to the office, Kanesan. He'll be pulled here not too long after sending that pic-- enough time to get some clothes back on, at least-- and Chuuya grins as he pops into existence, standing from his chair.]
Izuminokami, hey-- good to see you again.
[...it's kind of a relief, being able to see people again here.]
[ it might take a moment for him to realize what's happened because THAT WAS A BIT SUDDEN?? but once he recognizes where he is, kanesan is already smiling and turning toward chuuya. ]
You too, Chuuya. I wasn't we'd be able to speak again, after...
Exactly. I suppose I have Tamamo to thank for making it happen.
[ this is part of why he likes chuuya - he wouldn't make a bad commander, or even a bad master. ]
This demon just so happened to pick the right host to play to my weaknesses, that's all. Tactically, it was the best choice he could have made. Under any other circumstances, I would have fared much better - or at least damaged him more before falling.
[ with this, kanesan's smile fades and he dips his head in a slight bow. ]
I'm sorry to have failed you. I was hoping to lend my sword to you for a while longer.
[he stands at that, brow furrowed slightly as he crosses over to kanesan's chair-
and when he reaches it, he reaches out and sets a hand on his head.]
I hoped you would too, but don't go and apologize to me. If you fought your best against him and he just had the upper hand... you still went out fighting. That's the best way for anyone like us to go.
[...though he grins, just slightly.]
Maybe I'm a little bit of a hypocrite, though. I'd be apologizing to my boss too, in your place.
[ he allows this without any protest. it brings a small smile back to his face, at least. ]
Maybe that's why we get along so well.
...I don't plan on giving up. Whatever I can do from the other side to help, however small, I will do it. Though I can say it isn't nearly as interesting without you there to talk to... I may visit again, if you don't mind.
[he's always pleased to see kanesan! and that's even more apparent with the fox ears and tail he's got this week-- his ears perk, tail swishing in a near-wag as he beckons kanesan in.]
kanesan may or may not have had something to say when he arrives, but it's forgotten the second he sees chuuya, as he immediately strides over to touch one of his ears. rude? sorry chuuya. ]
They're real...?
[ even kogitsune's "ears" are really just his hair?? ]
[hello again! don't mind the fact that chuuya is barring the door as soon as kanesan's entered, using gravity cheats to put his desk in front of it before he takes a seat.]
Do things like that say things like that and you've guaranteed that I will worry about it.
[ jeez. still, he'll drop the subject with a sigh. ]
We've learned some things about the ritual they're meant to do on the fiftieth day. I assume Polly and Carlos have told you...? I wanted your opinion on it, since you may be in the same boat as those of us on the island.
You can try to ask me, but other-Chuuya came here to try to tell me a few things and I caught about fucking none of it, so good luck. We'll have to see what happens.
[he is already exhausted, honestly, but-- he wants to know if he can at least get something.]
Well. The demons gave us three potential results for the ritual. One is that they don't do it at all, and we're all trapped here forever.
[ obviously that one isn't acceptable so he's moving on quickly. ]
The second is they do the ritual, and sacrifice someone who isn't possessed by a demon. That will let all of us return home, but also give the demons free reign to play with each of our worlds however they please.
The third option is they do the ritual, and kill all of the demons while they're possessing the host - so they can't use the gun or fight the demon on it's own. If they do that, those who haven't died can go home and their worlds will be safe, but the rest of us will remain here and... [ he makes a face. ] ...potentially become demons ourselves.
[ why did I type that when you, teej, already know this ]
We are going to try other options before sending our letters to the living side. But we thought it was likely that you and Nathan would be affected by it the same way that we are, so we wanted to ask what your choice would be.
[ he's looking at chuuya expectantly now... how much of that went through, if any? ]
Letting us tell you isn't part of their game, then. I wonder if that means you'll be counted among the living instead... I suppose I can't complain about that, if it means you'll survive.
[ thinking out loud again. he's been doing that a lot lately. ]

You too, Chuuya. I wasn't we'd be able to speak again, after...
[ you know. the whole death thing. ]

[he gestures for kanesan to take a seat, settling back into his own chair.]
...good work slipping that hint by him, by the way. They were a little stupid about it, but it helped get him in the end.

[ he'll sit though, smiling wryly. ]
I don't know that I'd call it a good job, when I was still broken, in the end. But it is a relief to know that they caught him.
no subject
[he's proud of you, okay, kanesan.]
...I wish it would've worked out differently, but the fact that it didn't isn't your fault. You more or less took out two of them in a week.

[a little ruffle of kanesan's hair, there, before he steps back and settles back into his own seat.]
But I never expected anything less from you-- you're not the type to just sit back if there's something you can do, are you?

Welcome back. Come on, make yourself comfortable.

ears?
tail?
what?
kanesan may or may not have had something to say when he arrives, but it's forgotten the second he sees chuuya, as he immediately strides over to touch one of his ears. rude? sorry chuuya. ]
They're real...?
[ even kogitsune's "ears" are really just his hair?? ]

[that ear twitches at his touch; it's definitely real! it's soft, too.]
Careful with those... you could ask first, you know.
[... but he's not pushing kanesan away or stepping back, so he might well have said yes if he had asked.]
no subject
[ one last touch, and he'll pull back so he's not totally in chuuya's personal space. ]
Is it something like when we all saw each other's memories?
no subject
[he sets his chin in his palm, eyeing kanesan with a little grin.]
Wonder what yours would've been?
no subject
The Shinsengumi were called the Wolves of Mibu. If I were still on this side with you, that's probably what it would be.
no subject
[he hums, then laughs quietly at the next thing to come to mind--]
Though I wouldn't be surprised if you were something a little flashier, either.
no subject
[ mock offended because he knows exactly what that means lmao ]
So what would you expect mine to be, then?

Izuminokami. How are things?
[he's doing his best to Be Chill.]

I did have a question to two for you, but first... Why all the trouble? You've never done that before.
[ hes just. leaving vaguely at the desk before the door. ]

[everything is super fine, kanesan.]
